Twofold control loop network-level congestion control

چکیده
Active monitoring of a network’s congestion level can be coupled with network-level traffic control to maximise usage of bandwidth resources and avoid congestion. Explicit signalling between nodes has been introduced in literature to enable novel congestion control schemes. In this paper, we present a hybrid scheme to support distributed congestion avoidance, in which explicit feedback signalling flows along the core-node to next core-node closed circuit and along the core-node to edge-node closed circuit. Our main goals have been unresponsive traffic regulation, independent of transport protocol; max-min fairness among end-to-end flows with no need for stateful core routers and friendliness to QoS router mechanisms. We present edge nodes and core nodes regulation algorithms, and show results of extensive tests done on a real implementation. Copyright # 2006 AEIT.

In this paper a new sliding mode controller for congestion problem in TCP networks has been proposed. Congestion occurs due to high network loads. It affects some aspects of network behavior. Congestion control prevents or reduces loads in bottlenecks and manages traffic. By using control theory, closed loop data transfer processing structure in computer networks can cope with the congestion p...

Mobile ad hoc network congestion control is a significant problem. Standard mechanism for congestion control (TCP), the ability to run certain features of a wireless network, several mutations are not common. In particular, the enormous changes in the network topology and the joint nature of the wireless network. It also creates significant challenges in mobile ad hoc networks (MANET), density ...

One of the main drawbacks in the development of broadband networks based on asynchronous multiplexing and switching schemes is the handling of instantaneous or persistent congestion situations. Recently, several different flow-control (FC) schemes have been proposed [1]. According to the control algorithm, they can be subdivided into two main categories: rate-based and credit-based FC schemes. ...
متن کاملA Case for Queue-to-Queue, Back-Pressure-Based Congestion Control for Grid Networks
Standard “new-Reno” TCP faces some performance limitations in very high throughput IP WAN networks, (e.g., computing grids) due to a long end-to-end congestion feedback loop and a conservative behaviour with respect to congestion. We investigate breathing new life into the following idea: implement aggressive congestion control via hop-by-hop, link-level flow control (back-pressure). Studying T...

In this paper, a method is introduced which reduces the harmonicdistortion of the inverter output current, connecting the fuelcell to the AC load. Using FUZZY LOGIC-PI (FLPI), the controllingmethod is engaged in optimum tuning of the PI controllercoefficients of this converter. This converter has only one DC-ACboost inverter and simultaneously has the task of increasingvoltage level and generat...
